In the field of Cybersecurity, penetration testing, or pentesting, is the authorized practice of finding vulnerabilities in computer networks, software, IoT devices, etc. It is a core component of securing companies and public entities. The process is labour intensive and requires extensive IT knowledge. Automation has long been part of the craft, but automating the overall decision process is an outstanding challenge. Reinforcement Learning is a machine learning paradigm aiming to find solutions to sequential decision-making tasks, making it a well-suited candidate to automate pentesting. This webinar covers the state of the field, open challenges, and where we're heading towards.
